SternRep is a national representation agency for photographers specializing in commercial advertising. After attending Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, Andrea Stern (that’s me!) opened shop in Venice, California in 1995. Sternrep has expanded the Los Angeles home base with a second office in NYC.
I have a pretty diverse background, with stints in commercial production, shooting the stills on film sets, fundraising, and training/managing boxers- I draw inspiration from all these in my work representing photographers.
I love what I do. I quickly discovered that my New York mindset (my home town) and inclination for fast paced attentive action left me little choice but to work for myself. SternRep is entirely managed, marketed and driven by me. I keep my company small so I can be personally involved in every step of the process as far as each job and each photographer I rep.
My philosophy is to constantly progress, whether through fostering great relationships with great people, promoting growth with my stylized photographers, networking like crazy or simply knowing where the best hamburger in Los Angeles is.
