While many of us spent quarantine binging Netflix from our couch, Jeff Stockwell spent his crafting this Volvo test shoot. You have to say making use of this time for a car photoshoot proves Jeff has “drive”, right?

Well, that’s Jeff for you! He’s the kind of commercial photographer that can make a parking deck look like a high fashion runway.

Stockwell was able to create this lifestyle photography shoot with safety in mind, using his co-quarantining wardrobe stylist girlfriend as his model. Styling with spaces like this Long Beach parking deck during a time with little automobile use proved to be a smart location strategy, allowing him to make use of the unique light and industrial vibe with no visual distractions.

The pairing of the teal blue vehicle with the warm natural sunlight is a complementary color structure that ensures the metal frame color pops between the light and dark bands of light in the frame.

He uses his model consciously to draw your eye to the car, so that the viewer envisions the California city lifestyle embodied in the frames.

Stockwell worked with Hello Curve to complete the retouching that adds the final high end touches to the photography.

If you’re looking for a photographer who uniquely imagines ways to create branded imagery even in complex times, you’ll be floored by the following Jeff Stockwell Volvo test shoot image set.
