Vinnie Finn is a Los Angeles commercial advertising food and cosmetics photographer who knows how to take lemons and make them into lemonade… and then somehow take that lemonade and make it look deliciously thirst quenching in a to-go cup.

Never one to miss an opportunity to try something new, Vinnie has been using his time in quarantine to test out techniques and ideas for fresh additions to his work, finding ways to apply them pertinently to the times.

“Having food delivered is one taste of pre-pandemic life that we can safely indulge in, at least here in Los Angeles,” said Vinnie. “I thought I would make to-go and delivery food the subject of my latest test shoot and use it as an opportunity to try out some new lighting.”

Food, beverage, and products are all items Vinnie can safely style and shoot in his downtown LA studio with his limited socially-distanced crew. With his background as an art director at ad agencies and his extensive retouching experience, Vinnie can provide a smorgasbord of skills into a bento box of a footprint.

Vinnie’s To-Go Test has the bright and vibrant tones you’ve come to know and love from him with a vivid afternoon-lunch style high contrast lighting flare. It’s a style that makes us reminisce nostalgically on those pre-Covid days when you’d punch the clock, grab a co-worker and head out for lunch on the patio with some snacks.

Alas, we’ve had to give up the people for now, but with work that looks as delicious as Vinnie’s, we’re hungrier for take-out now more than ever.
